A new Woolworths store was built in Heidelberg, completed in April 2020. Throughout their high-traffic produce areas and stockrooms, high-quality, durable door solutions were required, for pedestrian and trolley traffic.
Remax were engaged to site measure, manufacture and install 6 pairs of 4500 series high-impact swingdoors, throughout the store.
Supermarket stockroom doors can certainly cop some wear and tear! In high-production, high-traffic areas, supermarket swingdoors are in fact-paced, rough environments, and can cop a beating in the rush to fill the shelves. Swingdoors in these environments need to be tough, durable, and low-maintenance – and the 4500 series swingdoors are the perfect fit.
Lightweight and long-lasting, the high-density foam panel is covered in a rotor-moulded polyethylene shell, impervious to cracks or moisture. With self-lubricating closing mechanisms, the Remax range of supermarket swingdoors are as low-maintenance as they are flexible, and perfect for the high traffic openings throughout the Woolworths supermarket.
For added protection against the heavy traffic of stockroom and produce areas, the 4500 series supermarket swingdoors in Woolworths Heidelberg were fitted with 900mmH impact buffers. These are essentially looped shock-absorbers, designed to withstand the impact of fast-moving, heavy trolleys, and transfer that impact evenly across the buffer, without causing undue stress on the door panel itself, and corresponding closing mechanisms.
