Jayco are an Australian Manufacturer, not just any RV manufacturer, but the largest RV manufacturer in the Southern Hemisphere. Having built around 225,000 Recreational Vehicles, employing 1200 employees and supporting a further 900+ local jobs to date.
Since the start of the Coronavirus pandemic and reduced overseas travel, Australians have been keen to get out and about within Australia which has seen an increase in demand for camping equipment and RV’s. With such a significant facility and number of staff now employed at Jayco; the facility itself was looking to improve employee comfort within their large production facility; and focus on staff retention; reducing drafts and dust onsite to ensure that the facility was a comfortable place to work, while allowing for quick, easy, automated access for large vehicles in and out of site.
Roller shutters were the doors currently installed on site but did not allow for quick access and can be cumbersome to open and close multiple times throughout the day, not to mention the maintenance issues which are often associated with roller shutters.
The recommendation by the Remax Team was to install Movidor Rapid Roller Door and large Concertina Folding Doors which allow automated access to the manufacturing area, the doors open and close automatically when forklifts / personnel approach or leave the area ensuring that minimal dust, drafts and environmental factors enter site through open doorways. Manually operated doors can often be left open much longer than they need to be, and at times, manual roller shutters are often left open throughout the day. Rapid Roller doors provide quick access for their large vehicles and RV’s but also allow some vision to the other side of the doorway, through the clear windows.
As a result, Jayco have reported that staff comfort has improved with reduced drafts and dust entering site, as well as energy savings as the site is able to maintain more consistent temperatures onsite, allowing for less heating / cooling. Not only that, but natural light is able to filter through to the interior, even with closed Rapid Doors, due to the clear windows, which allow staff inside the facility to see when a delivery vehicle is approaching site to offload / unload stock and equipment.
